Tumbled Brecciated Jasper

TUMBLED GEMSTONE

Jaspers come in many forms. My favorite one is the Brecciated Jasper because of its element structure and stunning color. In the Philippines, they might not be easy to find. I had few in my many years of search.

Just for your information:

Breccia is a term most often used for clastic sedimentary rocks that are composed of large angular fragments (over two millimeters in diameter). The spaces between the large angular fragments can be filled with a matrix of smaller particles or a mineral cement that binds the rock together.  See:HERE

Brecciated Jasper is a stone of strength and vitality often used to bring mental clarity and focus to a previously scattered event, experience or life in general.

Purple jasper stone with glossy finished to bring out its natural colour. Once this stone has been polished the color will be the same as you can see it now.

For hobbyist, the stone is able to produce good gemstone craft, either a cabochon, a specimen, or just to tumble it for healing, luck and energizing purposes.

Rough Quartz and Agate Specimen

The almost equal mixtures of agate and quartz in this photo is awesome. Stones like this are not very easy to find it its source in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. However, small portions of quartz in commonly found Jaspers are easy to find.

The stones are displayed in their natural state, they are broken down into pieces with a hammer so in some ways the stone crystals are cracked. This is because of the lack of lapidary tools present in its source to properly process these stones.

Carnelian Agate Stone

This is a typical gemstone found in the Philippines. Jaspers come in different colors and tones, some even mixed with other minerals like quartz and agate.  The multitude of minerals present in the stone makes it more appealing and interesting to the eye. With proper cut and correct angle polishing, the stone in this video could produce a remarkable outcome.
